When is the next readathon weekend?
As of posting, it’s the 7th of December 2024. But we have one every single month.

Does it matter if I’m in (insert country here)?
Nope! We have people in the US, UK, Europe, Aus, and more all joining in their own time zones.

Where does it take place?
In my Discord server. It’s like Slack, but more fun. If you don’t have a Discord account, it’s really easy to join (honest!).

Is it really free?
Yes. I host my book club for the love of it alone. No membership, no upsells, just community.

November was great! I don’t know what it was ab

November was great!

I don’t know what it was about this month, but even though I’m pretty sure I didn’t read as many books as last month, I had a great time.

Fun things for this month:
- My monthly readathon in my Discord server (this month was our most active yet!)
- Went to YALC with the lovely @nathaliesbooknook
- Had family visit
- Had dinner out with my brother

And here are the books I read:
- Young Gothic by M.A. Bennett 4.25 stars
- Sister Spirit by Efua Traoré 4 stars
- Empire of the Damned by Jay Kristoff 4.75 stars
- This Is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone and Amal El-Mohtar (buddy read with @thecheerfulbookworm) 5 stars
- Voyage of the Damned by Frances White (buddy read with @chiaramoodreads) I'm so close to finishing, I'm thinking 5 stars but we'll see in the last few pages!

What did you do in November that made your month better? Doesn’t have to be reading-related at all.

Q: Where’s your favourite place to buy books you’ve probably never seen before?

This was my second year at @yalc_uk, and just like last year, I found some books I’d never seen before. Out of the seven books I got, there were only three on my radar.

I’m especially thrilled that I got so many myth-based books.

What do you think, any of these sound good to you?

ARCs:
- Spellbound by Georgia Leighton (came in the goodie bag)
- Daughter of Chaos by A.S. Webb (won by picking an apple out of a bucket)

Purchases:
- The Dark Becomes Her by Judy I. Lin
- In the Shadow of the Fall by Tobi Ogundiran
- Yeseni and the Daughter of Peace by Solange Burrell
- Queer as Folklore by Sacha Coward
- Dead Poets Society by N.H. Kleinbaum

I'm nowhere near done! I might just keep going because I'm really feeling the unsettling creepy vibes in my reads right now.

Which book has your favourite spooky art?

Spooky, creepy art is just so fun and pleasing to see in books. The ones I have, I love. But honestly, I want more.
